Dr. Bin Su would analyze the embodied energy and embodied carbon emission in Singapore’s trade process. Thus, Dr. Bin Su analyzed the relationship between energy/carbon emissions and value added from the demand perspective, and used the multiplicative structural decomposition analysis to decompose the aggregate embodied intensity, and identified the driving force of energy intensity, which provides guidance for the implementation of energy policy. In addition, Dr. Bin Su also pointed out that existing research is basically limited to the level of intra-regional analysis, and multi-country and multi-regional analysis should become a useful direction for follow-up research on energy/carbon intensity.
Lecturer:
Dr. Su Bin is a senior researcher at the Energy Research Institute of the National University of Singapore, the deputy director of Center for Energy and Environmental Research, and the leader of the energy system modeling team. He is also the general leader of the Singapore Energy Conservation and Low Carbon Path Development Research Project. The main research interests are economics and policy of energy and environment, energy and climate change, energy and environmental system modeling and analysis, and published more than 90 papers in international journals related to energy and environment. Among them, there are nearly 30 highly cited ESI papers, and the research work has been cited more than 5,000 times. He was selected as the Clarivate Analytics Global Highly-Cited Researcher in 2018 (Top 1% in Cross Field) and the Global Highly-Cited Researcher in 2019 (Top 1% in Economics and Business). Dr. Su Bin is also the associate editor and guest editor of Energy Economics, guest editor of Applied Energy, guest editor of Journal of Cleaner Production, editorial board member of Reports on Economics and Finance, Chinese Journal of Population, Resources and Environment, Journal of Environmental Economics, and Journal of China University of Petroleum (Social Science), and also serves as reviewers of more than 80 international journals. Dr. Su Bin also hosted and participated in more than 20 government research projects related to energy and environment in Singapore. He obtained financial support from the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Economic Development Agency, National Environment Agency, Energy Market Administration, the Maritime and Port Administration, the Climate Change Secretariat, and the National Research Foundation in Singapore.
