2021 ACNET-EngTech Work Meeting Successfully Held

On December 28, ACNET-EngTech held its 2021 Work Meeting online. The meeting was organized by the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), the 2021 rotating president. Representatives from the ASEAN-China Centre and 20 universities from 6 countries participated in the meeting. Prof. Wang Bo, Vice President of BIT, delivered the welcome address. He extended his gratitude to all members for their support for the Beijing Institute of Technology in 2021, heaped praise on ACNET-EngTech for being an important platform for educational exchange and cooperation between China and ASEAN, and expressed his hope that ACNET-EngTech would play an even more important role in engineering and technology higher education in the future.

         

Representatives from 16 member universities delivered comprehensive summaries of their respective institutions’ contributions and cooperations under ACNET-EngTech in 2021 and presented their working plans and proposals for 2022. Facing the continued COVID-19 epidemic situation in 2021, all ACNET-EngTech members kept a positive attitude, displayed academic strength, and shared experience and resources with each other to promote multi-dimensional and multi-level educational exchange and cooperation and maintain unabated relations. Members have confidence in the continuing development of ACNET-EngTech in 2022 and are brimming with expectation. They committed to expanding the scope of and further developing methods of cooperation and to carrying out various joint activities in talent cultivation, scientific research, resource sharing, and faculty and student exchange, so as to deliver win-win results to all members of ACNET-EngTech.

 

At the meeting, Mahidol University was elected as the 2022 rotating president. Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology at MU, detailed the 2022 ACNET-EngTech work plan.
